John Twitchen – Managing Director
John is the founder of Sauce with over 15 years experience as an environment sector communications professional working for public, private and partnership organisations. He has a degree in environmental science, is a member of the CIWM's communications committee, an approved associate and advisory board member of the Consultation Institute, and is a regular speaker on resource management, environment and planning related issues. John loves good food and fine wine, and justifies this by regularly cycling hundreds of miles - in one go... |

Paula Boyce – Projects Director
Paula has over 20 years of experience in the municipal waste and resource management sector having held a range of senior positions in local authorities up and down the UK. Latterly she has also been providing independent waste management consultancy services. Paula holds an MSc. in Solid Waste Management and sits on the CIWM Centre Council for the East Anglian area.
Paula's knowledge has enabled her to deliver a wide range of technical briefs including; effective waste partnerships and shared services, development of service contracts, PFI waste infrastructure development and contract negotiation, waste strategy development, collection services, and accompanying communications packages.
Paula lives in Norfolk and likes nothing better than a brisk walk along the coast to blow away the cobwebs. She has also been known to throw the odd dinner party or three for friends and family. |

Becky Borrow – Operations Director
Becky joined Sauce as Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running and development of the ever-expanding company. After working in an entirely different industry pre-Sauce, Becky transferred her management and communication skills from one field to another and is very much enjoying learning more and more about the world of environmental consultancy.
A keen skier, Becky loves escaping to the mountains whenever possible (summer or winter!), loves baking and is also fluent in French. |

Richard Steiner - Project Support Officer
Richard joined Sauce in 2011 as a Project Support Officer, having recently completed his MA Public Policy at King’s College London. He previously worked for Greenpeace Canada as Assistant to the Executive Director, where he contributed to various major projects relating to the Alberta Tar Sands and the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference.
Richard is very passionate about provincial and national parks in Canada, and spends as much time canoeing and hiking in Algonquin as possible. |

Sarah Driver - Project Support Officer
Sarah has recently joined Sauce Consultancy as the Project Support Officer Intern. As well as an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, Sarah has broad professional experience of the environmental sector having worked in a number of not-for-profit organisations including Sustrans, Green Alliance and Tree Aid.
Sarah enjoys doing acrobatics and aerial hoop in her spare time, and is a keen cyclist, having cycled the length of Vietnam on a second-hand bike. |

Zoë Lenkiewicz – Sauce Associate
Zoë Lenkiewicz is a Sauce associate and has been working in the field of waste management and stakeholder engagement for nine years. Zoë’s interest in environmental issues began when she was awarded a ‘green’ Blue Peter badge aged 10. She went on to study environmental biology and later completed her Masters in environment and development. Zoë’s experience includes working in a local authority as Waste Strategy Officer, in academia as a research associate and latterly as a waste technologies consultant. She has also sat on the LARAC board and CIWM Cymru Centre Council. Her conviction and natural skills in stakeholder engagement have led her to facilitate over 100 participatory events on resource management issues.
Zoë has two dogs and hopes that one day they will stop stealing her socks. |

Julie Fourcade – Sauce Associate
Julie has been working in the communications field for 20 years. She has a strong track record in the development and execution of high impact public relations strategies and communications campaigns for public & private sector clients with particular expertise in waste, clean energy and the built environment sectors. As Head of Communications and PR at WRAP, she led the Recycle Now development team and she still takes pride every time she sees the branding in a public place. Her grounding in the waste and recycling sector is extensive. Most recently she has been managing the corporate communications function for Viridor and one of her proudest moments was the unveiling of Cafe Viridor at RWM 2010 after which she needed a very strong coffee!
Julie loves to visit her husband’s family home in St Malo, France where she mainly eats oysters fresh from the sea.
Mother of two young boys, she is simply looking forward to a good night’s sleep.

Steve Bustin – Sauce Associate
Steve Bustin is a freelance journalist, media trainer and senior level PR consultant. After spending seven years as a broadcast journalist for BBC News, Steve launched his own media consultancy business, Vada Media, in 2002. Steve is often called in to train high profile individuals in advance of media appearances and also works with business owners and senior management who are looking to position themselves as spokespeople for their industry or company. As a journalist Steve has written for a wide range of newspapers and magazines including The Times, Gay Times, Amateur Gardening and Beautiful Gardens and has a regular garden column in Out There magazine. He has been a theatre and arts critic for Pink Paper, LBC and TalkSport.
When not surgically attached to his laptop, Steve can be found head down in the herbaceous borders in his garden.

Phil Downing, Icaro Consulting, Sauce Associate
Phil Downing is Managing Director of Icaro Consulting, a strategic research consultancy specialising in the planning, development and delivery of sustainability. Icaro works across the public, commercial and construction sectors, providing high quality consultancy and research services with the primary focus being systems behaviour change - whether in terms of individuals, communities, or organisations. Having spent a significant part of his career at Brook Lyndhurst, and then as Head of Environmental Research at Ipsos MORI, Phil has a range of relevant experience in relation stakeholder research and engagement with a who's who of research projects to his name.
Phil is (kind of) fluent in Spanish, enjoys tennis and running and is a long suffering fan of Sheffield Wednesday FC. |

Daniel Sage, Sauce Associate
With a combination of waste and resource management experience at a senior level in both the private and public sector, Daniel has wide ranging skills across a broad range of waste management practices. As a Sauce Associate, Daniel’s experience enables him to provide support services for a range of projects including local authority kerbside collection, communications, behavioural change, procurement and waste strategy development.
Dan spent 2 years on the board of LARAC (Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee) where he helped develop national policy with Defra and other government organisations. In addition, he spent 2 years as a European Expert on waste collection for the TAIEX Group.
Dan loves to cook for friends but, after a series of recent dessert horrors, he is keeping strictly to savoury items. |
